Proceso de aculturación en los jóvenes timbiquireños residentes en Cali

Abstract

Los procesos de aculturación se han convertido en una constante para la mayoría de los seres humanos, pues desde que las distancias entre un lugar a otro se facilitaron o redujeron, las personas tienden a migrar frecuentemente y cada quien lo hace por diferentes motivos. El proceso de aculturación que hoy viven los jóvenes Timbiquireños residentes en Cali, se torna difícil, toda vez que se debe considerar que salen desde muy jóvenes de su lugar de origen para radicarse en otro lugar, con el fin de buscar un sueño, el cual sería convertirse en grandes profesionales que les facilite conseguir un mejor empleo que les pueda brindar estabilidad en un futuro para ellos y su familia. Por lo anterior, los jóvenes de esta zona del sur occidente colombiano se ven obligados a buscar este sueño en lugar diferente al de su origen, porque en su municipio no hay universidades públicas, ni privadas. Es así como estos jóvenes en el nuevo territorio deben iniciar todo un proceso de adaptación y asimilación de la nueva cultura, además de luchar por mantener su propia cultura y sin dejar de lado sus costumbres ancestrales y forma de vida. Por lo anterior entonces, este trabajo tiene como objetivo de investigación: Analizar el proceso de aculturación en los jóvenes Timbiquireños residentes en Cali. La metodología de esta investigación es de carácter cualitativo y de tipo descriptivo en la cual se realizaron entrevistas a los jóvenes timbiquireños residentes en la ciudad de Cali. Los resultados obtenidos de esta investigación se orientan hacia la descripción y explicación sobre cómo ha sido el proceso de adaptación, proceso de aculturación, cambio de dinámicas y las pérdidas y ganancias en el ámbito cultural que han tenido cada uno de los jóvenes timbiquireños que residen en Cali.

Acculturation processes have become a constant for most human beings, since since the distances between places were facilitated or reduced, people tend to migrate frequently and everyone does so for different reasons. The acculturation process that the young Timbiquireños living in Cali live today, becomes difficult, since it must be considered that they leave from very young from their place of origin to settle in another, all this in order to find a dream, the which would be to become great professionals that facilitates them to get a better job that can provide them with stability in the future for them and their family. Therefore, young people in this area of the south west of Colombia are forced to seek this dream in a different place from their origin, because there are no public or private universities in their municipality. This is how these young people in the new territory must begin a whole process of adaptation and assimilation of the new culture, in addition to fighting to maintain their own culture and without neglecting their ancestral customs and way of life. Therefore, this work aims to research: Analyze the acculturation process in young Timbiquireños residing in Cali. The methodology of this research is qualitative and descriptive in which interviews were conducted with young Timbiquireños residing in the city of Cali. The results obtained from this research are oriented towards the description and explanation of how the adaptation process, acculturation process, dynamics change and the losses and gains in the cultural field that each of the Timbiquirean youths who reside in Cali.
